Facilities available on-campus include :
The Student Affairs Centre (SAC) is set up to create and support an ideal and conducive environment to students' development. It looks after the welfare of Universiti Tenaga Nasional students by arranging on-campus housing, insurance, financial aid, career guidance and personal counseling. The centre also encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities by assisting them in running their respective societies and clubs. The SAC also handles all matters pertaining to sports and cultural activities as well as providing sports facilities for the usage of students and staff of UNITEN.
We aspire to create a friendly culture and environment between staff and students through programmes conducted by either the university or students.
Higher Learning Institution is a platform to develop human being in terms of knowledge and self skills. It is no doubt that academic is being given the top priority to students when they are in university. However, another aspect that a student should give attention to is the development of self skills. These skills will contribute to success.
Most companies in Malaysia look forward to employing competent candidates to work with them. Those who are cultivated with self skills usually have higher potential to be employed. Academic performance will not be solely looked for. The combination of both will be an asset to students when they are being evaluated for employment.
To prepare students for this, the Student Development Unit of UNITEN has taken the initiative to provide students with programmes which can assist them for that purpose.
SDU organises programmes that cover a wide range of topics such as motivation, leadership skills, time management, student organisational skills, study skills, self-confidence, etc.
To support students who are academically weak, SDU, in collaboration with colleges and other units, offer extra programmes in which lecturers will give extra hours to students to talk on study skills, share sessions etc. through programmes such as Campus Survival and Campus Revival.
SDU also encourages students to participate in clubs and societies where students can make friends, learn to organise programmes and become leaders. Their involvement in these kinds of programmes will indirectly teach them organisational skills, train them on time management and instill in them qualities of a leader.
Towards the end of their studies, the Career Development Unit will organise a programme called Bagpack to Briefcase. The programme offers some sessions on Interview Skills, Writing Resume Workshops, Personal Grooming Skills and many other skills to prepare students for working life. During Career Fair, students will be given a chance to shop for employment offers by invited companies. Students are welcome for a walk-in interview sessions during Career Fair.
The loan and scholarships unit assists and facilitates on issues pertaining to the welfare and finances of students in obtaining loans or scholarships or other assistance so that students are able to continue their studies despite economic burden. The student loan and scholarships unit (Alumni, Careers, and Sponsorship Centre) is a liaison between students and sponsors or any other scholarship providing institutions. The unit also aids students in dealing with documents regarding loans / sponsorships or aid in ensuring the process in completing related dealings is carried out with more ease and completeness.
One of the government's most issued loans is the PTPTN loan, which allows Malaysian students from all walks of life to fund their education.
