World-Point Academy of Tourism

Introduction

World-Point Academy of Tourism was incorporated in 2003 by a group of professionals who collectively saw the vast potential and demand in terms of human capital need in the tourism industry, both within and outside the country.

The academy was officially launched when the approval from the Ministry of Education Malaysia and Ministry of Tourism Malaysia were obtained (Ref: MOE: B3K 4372) and (Ref: MOT: KPL/LN/900-22/2/0091 respectively).

The Academy was officially appointed as an authorized training center for International Air Transport Association Universal Federation of Travel Agents Association, CANADA (IATA-UFTAA,) in the year of 2004.? The appointment was a corner stone for the Academy whose existence was barely a year old. This has given the board much impetus to scale further heights in offering other courses such as Business, IT and English courses for the Academy. In 2005 the Academy was officially appointed as the Authorized Training Centre for City & Guild (C&G) Pitman Qualification, UK. In December 2005 World-Point has been authorized by the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia (Ref: KHEDN(S) 100/855/1/Klt.38 (48)) to recruit students from overseas.

The academy is strategically located in Bandar Baru Ampang. It is just 8KM away from the Malaysia's most magnificent building ? Petronas Twin Tower (KLCC). A very convenient location as lots of shopping malls such as AmpWalks, Ampang Park, Great Eastern Mall, Ampang Point, Gaint, Galaxy Ampang and so on can be seen from the Academy windows. Book stores, food center, banks and postal office are just around the corner of the Academy. All daily necessities are readily available in countless of shops around the Academy. Dwelling amenities are also plentiful in both low-rise and high-rise buildings near by. For students without passenger cars to move around, the LRT (Light Rail Transit) and the Taxi stand are all within short walking distance.? Best of all Ampang is known to be a food paradise for K.L. folks.
