What’s It About ?
This field is about the study of computational approaches in science and engineering, and the use of information-processing applications in information flow, data capture, information systems design and specification, and user interface design. The aim of this field is to: develop an understanding of computer languages and the foundation of computational theory; develop the ability to analyse, design and manage information systems; and understand the sociological impact of information technology.
Computing is the designing, developing and building hardware and software systems. It includes processing, structuring, and managing various kinds of information; doing scientific research on and with computers; making computer systems behave intelligently; and creating and using communications and entertainment media.
