Overwhelming Response to Education Fair

KOTA KINABALU: Response towards the two-day East Malaysia Education Fair at the Sabah Trade Centre that ended yesterday has been described as very encouraging and the organiser are confident it will become an annual event.
Challenger Concept (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Tan Mui Hong said the fair was a useful venue for students and parents to get the right information on education opportunities in local and international universities and the study loans available.
"We have guidebooks on sale that give comprehensive information on study opportunities in Malaysia and abroad. In case they did not manage to buy them, they can also browse our website at www.studymalaysia.com.
"SPM and STPM school leavers as well as their parents can also find out the kind of accredited courses that qualify for study loans from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN)," he added.
Tan hoped the event enabled students to choose courses that interested them from the more than 30 exhibitors that took part in the fair.
"Students can save cost if they really know what courses they wish to pursue and to make comparisons to find out which university or college is affordable to them," he said.
The education fair was held for the second consecutive year at the Sabah Trade Centre. Meanwhile, Challenger concept founded in 1992. is an established publisher specialising in education and training guidebooks in Malaysia.
Tan also advised students to visit the website www.studymaalysia.com, already in its 6th version of development, one of the most well-known Malaysian education websites, promoting education locally and globally, and ranked by many world pular search engines.
One of its features is the students' hotspot has been specially designed to provide students with more information on current issues, financial aid and latest updates as well as a forum for students to participate interactively.
Items in the hotspot included an event calendar, career guide, scholarships, students' views, study forum and the latest news.
Other features are the local and international sites. The local site give information on vast study opportunities in Malaysia while the international site is specially created for overseas students to search what and where to study in Malaysia.
