It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Challenger Concept (M) Sdn Bhd on the release of its 7th edition of Study in Malaysia Handbook (International Edition), which is complemented by the website www.StudyMalaysia.com.
It is also heartening to see the soon-to-be-released 1st edition of "Postgrad Malaysia Handbook" which aims to assist students in seeking for either taught or research-based postgraduate programmes.
The prime focus of the Ministry of Higher Education is to ensure that education institutions deliver quality education and produce employable graduates. These graduates should be equipped with the ability to compete globally for appointment by international employers or start their own enterprise.
Malaysia's quality framework and its related laws are in place to ensure quality education and academic excellence. Students are encouraged to select courses of study that have been accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, the national agency that regulates the quality and standards of higher education providers.
Besides the availability of many study options for Bachelor's degree programmes, Malaysia's education institutions also offer value-for-money postgraduate courses. The establishment of four research-intensive universities; well-equipped research facilities; the government's policy which encourages R&D; the availability of research funding and experts in various fields of study; and competitive tuition fees have made Malaysia a viable option for postgraduate studies.
Last but not the least, the endeavours of Challenger Concept for the past 15 years is commendable. Their publications have complemented the efforts of the government in disseminating information on study opportunities in Malaysia.
