Sunway To Help Top Students Who Failed To Get Seats

July 22, 2013 | National News

PETALING JAYA: There is a silver lining for top scorers with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) who failed to gain entry into public universities.

The Sunway Education Group through its Jeffrey Cheah Foundation is offering scholarships to deserving students.

Group senior executive director Elizabeth Lee said the scholarships would cover at least 50% of tuition fees for study in a wide range of degree courses. Also, studying at the Sunway University would lead to dual awards from the university and Lancaster University.

Among the degrees are Medical Biotechnology, Neural Biology, Psy-chology, Computer Science, Infor-mation Technology, Information Systems, Communications and business-related degrees such as Accounting & Finance, Business Management and Business Studies.

Other courses include Actuarial Studies, International Hospitality Management and Culinary Manage-ment.

“Once the students are enrolled into Sunway University, they will have the opportunity to apply for further bursaries and even the coveted Chancellors’ Scholarships which fully cover their entire tuition fees.

“This includes a study visit to Lancaster University during their final year plus air fare and accommodation at Lancaster University,” Lee said.
