APU - ABNxcess SIGN MOU TO BRIDGE INDUSTRIAL NEEDS

September 11, 2014 | Campus News
Technology Park – Friday, 5 September 2014 – Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia (APU) and Asian Broadcasting Network (M) Sdn Bhd (ABNxcess) today sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to furnish the broadcasting and media industry with skilled and market-ready workforce.

The main objective of the MoU is to promote interaction between APU and ABNxcess in mutually beneficial areas and to provide a formal arrangement for initiating interaction between APU and ABNxcess.

The collaboration between the two organisations will provide students from APU an internship platform and employment opportunity at ABNxcess after completing their studies. The APU’s students would be able to utilise facilities such as the studio and lab in ABNxcess for their programmes and curricula’s needs. ABNxcess would also become an industrial advisor to the APU’s related programmes or curricular undertaken by them.

The MoU, among other would benefit both organisations in terms of joint Research & Development effort and provide opportunity for ABNxcess’ employees who wish to further their studies in areas where ABNxcess has interest in.

According to Datuk Parmjit Singh, CEO and Founder of the APIIT Education Group, “APU’s fundamental objective - which has also driven APIIT ever since its establishment more than 20 years ago - is to produce graduates who are not only academically endowed, but who are able to immediately gain employment in the areas that they have been trained in – not just to gain their first jobs, but to secure their long-term careers. This requires them not merely to gain theoretical knowledge, but to be able to apply theory into practice in real-world situations. This is precisely the sort of exposure that we continuously seek to provide our students with, throughout their time with us. This cannot be achieved without the support of industry partners like ABNXcess who, through this collaboration, will provide our students with valuable exposure that will perfectly complement their studies so as to make them truly industry-ready.”
“The media and broadcasting industry is now booming and requires a lot of polished talents. Not many Higher Learning Institutions in Malaysia provide a real-field exposure to these future media and broadcasting workforce. ABNxcess is proud to be an APU partner to provide training and exposure to the students so that they well prepared to brace the media and broadcasting industry challenges after completing their academic requirements in APU,” said Sreedhar Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer of ABNxcess during the event.
