A total of 48,719 candidates will sit for the third term of the 2014 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) from Nov 3 to 10 in 756 examination centres across the country.

The Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM) said in a statement that these candidates comprised 47,988 from government schools, 397 from private schools, 315 private candidates, 17 from state government schools and two from integrity schools.

The repeat examination for the first term of the 2014 STPM will be held from Nov 13 to 19 for 36,238 candidates, while 36,012 candidates will sit for the repeat examination for the second term of the 2014 STPM from Nov 20 to 26.

The MPM advised candidates to bring along their identity cards, as well as their candidate admission registration reports (LPKC) for the STPM and the Muet registration slip for the Muet.

Candidates can print the latter two documents via the MPM’s website at www.mpm.edu.my

Since 2012, STPM has seen a change in format to a modular system which assesses students continuously over three terms compared to the earlier terminal system which was based on one final examination.

Students are allowed to resit their papers in every consecutive term examination.
