Petaling Jaya: The Lee Foundation has donated RM50mil to Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar) for the construction of its new campus in Sungai Long, Kuala Lumpur.

The new campus is expected to be completed in May.

Utar president Prof Datuk Dr Chuah Hean Teik thanked the foundation for the donation.

He said that one of the university’s faculties would be named after the founder of the foundation, the late Tan Sri Lee Kong Chian.

“(We) are extremely grateful to honour this remarkable man by naming the Utar Faculty of Engineering and Science as the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science.

“It is to keep alive his excellent values and to encourage our present and future students to adopt such fine qualities, which are truly timeless essentials in the present era,” Prof Chuah said in a statement here yesterday.
