Nomadic Lion David Atthowe to speak at Curtin Sarawak on 10 April

Miri – 8 April 2015 – David Atthowe, one of the Nomadic Lion trio committed to promoting local environmental and humanitarian projects in various countries across Asia, will be speaking at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) on 10 April 2015.

The talk, organised by the International Division of Curtin Sarawak’s Office of Student Affairs, will be held from 10 am to 12 noon at the university’s Auditorium.

The Nomadic Lion, made up of Atthowe and his friends Yusepe ‘Pesuy’ Sukmana and Gilang Ramadhan, have drawn a lot of attention as they walked across Malaysia and Borneo to raise awareness of environmental issues and create change in local communities. At the talk, Atthowe will share his epic 137-day, 2,250 kilometre trek across Borneo.

Staff and students of Curtin Sarawak as well as members of the public are invited to attend and attendance is free of charge.

Head of International Division Jean-Paul Mouton said Nomadic Lion represents values that Curtin upholds, which are compassion for humanity and awareness and protection of the natural environment.

“We are excited to host David and hear his first-hand perspective on these values in the context of his journey across Borneo. This event will showcase Curtin Sarawak’s commitment to creating a global campus and exposing its students to a variety of thought leaders,” said Mouton.
