MSU’s 18th convocation – proud moment for University’s and graduates

Management & Science University (MSU) held its 18th convocation on campus here on 23 and 26 January recently. A total of 12 graduates received their degrees in Doctorate’s Degree (12), Master’s Degree (31), Bachelor’s Degree (1,100) and diploma’s (767) from various disciplines.

MSU also awarded Honorary Doctorate in Management to Ireland’s Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) President, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin.

The scrolls were awarded by MSU Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin Also present was MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dato Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab.Yajid.

Seven programme of studies saw its first batch of graduates which are Master in Accounting/Finance, Master in Management, Bachelor in Psychology with Marketing (Hons), Bachelor of Counseling and Guidance (Hons), Bachelor of Information Systems Auditing (Hons), Diploma in Spa Management and Diploma Aircraft Maintenance Technology.

Meanwhile, the first batch of 55 graduates from the Diploma in Culinary Arts, which consists of Royal Malaysia Navy were also honored at the ceremony. The programme is a collaboration between MSU and the Ministry of Defence Malaysia.

The university also honoured 47 students with five category of awards for their outstanding achievements in academic and extra-curriculum during the convocation ceremony.

The Chancellor Gold Medal Award was awarded to Mohamad Akhbar Ali, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Hons). Whereas recipients for the President Award were Nur Shafiyah Mohamad Shafi, Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) and Nurfatiha Roslee, Diploma in Nursing. The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Hons) graduate, Grace Vani Thiyagarajan was awarded the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award for her achievements in leadership skills, versatility and forbearance throughout her studies. Meanwhile twenty three (23) and twenty (20) graduates received the Academic Award and Industrial Award respectively.
