The One Academy Awards More Than RM600,000 Worth of Scholarships and Prizes to Secondary School Students Through Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards 2018

In search for potential creative talents from 11 locations in 7 states of the country, The One Academy organised the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards 2018 nationwide to offer a lifetime opportunity where secondary school students stand a chance to win scholarships from The One Academy and prizes worth more than RM600,000. Entering its 21st anniversary, this prestigious annual art competition and prize giving ceremony is offering winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards RM80,000, RM60,000, and RM40,000 worth of scholarships respectively, while the seven Young Artists Awards winners will receive RM25,000 worth of scholarships each. On top of that, the Gold winner will also take home an additional RM20,000 cash prize while the Silver and Bronze will each receive RM1,000.

This art competition is held in conjunction with Disney Pixar Animation Studios’ recent release of the animated film, Incredibles 2. The One Academy team went to Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kelantan, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak in search for the nation’s most remarkable artists since early June.

The Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards 2018 will be officiated by Y.B. Puan Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.

As this day is a celebration of artistry, The One Academy takes this opportunity to also acknowledge excellent work by its graduates through Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Creative Youth Awards 2018. Not forgetting the passionate art teachers, two awards will be presented to them—Distinguished Art Educator Awards 2018 and Art Educator Lifetime Achievement Awards 2018.

There will also be a Digital Art & Creative Design Expo taking place on the day of the event to showcase the illustrious work of our talented students. Recipient of the Art Educator Lifetime Achiever Award 2018 and Managing Director of The One Academy Penang, Mr. Leong Hoy Yoke, will also be available for an interview session. He is an Illustration graduate of The One Academy, whose talent was discovered by Hong Kong’s master comics illustrator and publisher, Ma Wing Shing, famed for his works that were adapted into the highly popular The Storm Riders and The Storm Warriors films.
