Malaysian Art Academy Ranks 8th Internationally for Top Animation Programme

Animation Career Review (ACR) is the ultimate online resource for people aspiring for careers in animation, game design, graphic design, digital art, and related fields. Launched in 2011, the site aims to be the most comprehensive source of information for aspiring animation and game design professionals.

In its recently announced 2021 school rankings of the “Top 25 International Animation Training Programs”, The One Academy – one of Malaysia’s leading art and design institutions, made the list for the third year running by ranking in at #8. The college steadily climbs up the ranks, previously entering at #11 in 2019 and placing #10 last year.

For the animation category, the criteria used to determine the rankings is the institute’s academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the programme, value relating to tuition and indebtedness and employment data. With 178 international colleges considered this year, The One Academy has scored highly in each of the above criteria, beating out countries Singapore, Brazil, South Africa, France, Sweden, Portugal and Australia in the list.

In the current world where global consumers are displaying a growing appetite for engaging visual experiences and moviegoers demanding high-quality productions with realistic animation and visual effect, studios are including more animation and VFX scenes into film productions and games. According to ResearchAndMarkets.com, the market size of the global animation, VFX and video games industry reached US$ 261 billion in 2020.

At The One Academy, the Digital Animation students are taught the different dimensions that make up animation such as storytelling, acting, figure drawing, CG modelling and more. They also learn the development process of animation which includes texturing, lighting, rigging, rendering and more, all of which results in more lifelike objects and environments. Before graduating, students work together for a
collaborative project between Digital Animation and Illustration majors to produce an animated short film for their final project.

The One Academy is committed to providing the best art education programmes and continues to nurture its students passionately through its “Masters Train Masters” coaching philosophy, which has been practised for the past three decades, by providing diploma and degree courses namely Advertising& Graphic Design, Digital Animation, Digital Media Design, Film Visual Effects, Interior Architecture & amp; Design, Illustration, Fine Arts and Paris Fashion Design & Pattern Making.
