Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), a distinguished institution of higher learning in Malaysia with a solid track record of delivering academic excellence and nurturing future-proof talent for over five decades, and IG Tech Group (IG Tech), a group of fast-growing technology and innovation companies based in Cambodia with international market reach and constantly bolstered forward by the initial IG Tech’s member, Idealink Consulting Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 5 December 2022, marking TAR UMT’s first collaboration with an industry partner from Cambodia.

The MoA’s purpose is to facilitate collaborative efforts through technical consultancy to support the development of identified products or solutions initiated by IG Tech Group, and to jointly explore potential collaborative research, technical programmes and solution development.

Under this cooperation, National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) will provide technical support to IG Tech Group in areas relevant to the competency development for identified product project. Meanwhile, both NPIC and IG Tech Group will jointly explore potential collaborative research, programmes, or real projects, on which both parties will mutually agree upon. TAR UMT will provide Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Internet of Things (IoT) consultancy to the products and solutions jointly developed by IG Tech Group and NPIC in this MoA. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, who penned the MoA together with Mr Kim Puthkiry, Chairman and President of IG Tech Group.

Prof Ir Dr Lee said, “TAR UMT has been working closely with industry in various areas. The signing ceremony today is an important milestone for us because this is the first time we work with an industry partner from Cambodia. We hope that this collaboration will be successful and mutual benefit all of us.”
