如果已拥有SPM资格，并且打算攻读学士学位，那么你就可能需要获取大学先修班资格才能被大学录取。那么，你应该选择哪一项大学先修课程呢?

尽管许多大学先修课程在全球都获得大学的认可，但是能花点时间去多了解每项大学先修课程是很重要的，这样你就能更容易地，进入大专院校攻读学士学位课程。

在马来西亚，有三打类型的大学先修课程提供给具备SPM资格的学生:

由马来西亚考试委员会提供的马来西亚大学先修课程
由外部考试委员会监督的国际性大学预科课程
由各大学本身提供的本地大学基础班课程

其中最受学生们欢迎的选择之一是大学基础班。

1. 私立大学和学院基础研究课程

本土大学基础课程主要是由本土私立高等教育机构(包括外国大学分校)所开办，这些大专院校提供本土学士学位、双联学士学位和3+0学士学位课程。

相比与国际性的大学预科课程多专注在文理商科目，这些本土大学基础班也会提供一些特别学科如：建筑、商业、法律、电脑、酒店、工程等领域。

一般上每年会有三次录取名额，入学资格为(5科C)、UEC (4Bs)、IGCSE /O水平(5科C)或同等资格。

优点:

在已计划好要攻读某个目标大学的学士课程之下，学生可先在大学基础班里报读相关的科目
大学基础班只需要一年就能完成
比需要耗时两年的先修班更划算
只要你符合大学学士课程的入学资格，你就有很大机会被录取

缺点:

如果最终你决定换一个不同领域的大学学士课程，你或许会面对困难
若你决定到其他外国大学继续深造，这项本土大学基础课程备受认可的程度有限

	The MUFY programme is offered on a modular or semester basis. Each subject is divided into two units i.e. part 1 and part 2. In total, the programme offers eleven subjects in twenty-two units. Students have the option of choosing between eight and ten units which must include English 1 and English 2.

2. 国立大学基础课程

如果你计划在国立大学攻读学士课程，你可以选择在一些特定的国立大学报读其基础课程（Program Asasi）。通过特定的国立大学所设立的Pusat Asasi 作出申请，完成课程后，学生可在该所大学攻读学士学位课程。此基础班的修习年限为一至两年。学生们通过讲课、辅导课和实验室实习来学习课程。课程评估包括测验、作业及考试。

对此项基础班感兴趣的学生，可在每年的一年月份通过Bahagian Pengurusan Kemasukan Pelajar (BPKP)的大学中心单位(http://upu.moe.gov.my)申请在七月份的入学名额。

申请者必须:

是马来西亚公民
拥有SPM资格证书或同等学历，至少考取5科C，包括马来文和历史需及格(在七月份重考中的马来文考获C也可以被接受的)

此外，申请者也必须符合有关课程的最低申请条件。BPKP所采用的甄选准则要求申请者:

在SPM考试中取得优良的成绩，并积极参于课外活动
持有与申请课程相关的科目组合
要主修某个课程，必须在相关科目中考获优良的成绩
在有需要的情况下，必须成功通过面试
必须根据优先顺序来选择课程

申请者成功被录取的情况须视乎有关国立大学的学额而定。马来西亚拥有20所国立大学，但并非所有大学都开设基础班。
