BSIB Rising Star Scholarship Programme is designed to support promising students in their academic pursuits and career path with Berjaya Sompo Insurance. We believe education is the key to success and we are committed to supporting the next generation of leaders.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Application is open until 31^st December 2023, 59 pm.
• Application must be submitted through email at [email protected].
• The subject of the email: BSIB Rising Star Scholarship.
• Application must be submitted together with the following documents:

Copy of NRIC of the applicant and parents or guardian;
Curriculum vitae (personal information and involvement in extra co-curricular activities;
*Copy of applicant’s university acceptance letter; or
*Copy of trial results; or
*Copy of latest semester result with current CGPA; and
Copy of 3 months’ pay slips (parents or guardian) or verification letter from the employer (for salary without pay slips) or verification letter from the head of the local community (for self-employed).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND COVERAGE

1. Open for Malaysian
2. Open to any course/field of study, public and private universities in Malaysia for Pre-U (foundation or matriculation), Diploma and Degree, full-time, conventional, hybrid, or online delivery
3. Applicants from households earning below RM5,000 per
4. Applicants age below 23 years old in 2023.
5. Applicants may be required to submit further proof of their eligibility within such timeframe as may be required by BSIB, failing which BSIB shall be entitled to reject the

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

1. SPM Applicants: Trial results with at least 7As in any subject.
2. STPM Applicants: Trial results with at least 2As in any
3. UEC Applicants: Trial results with at least 6As in any
4. Pre-U and Diploma Applicants: Latest result with at least 50 CGPA.

Applicants must have a confirmed placement in public and private Institution in Malaysia for the above categories. Applicants currently pursuing Pre-U, Diploma, or Degree programme are required to complete 1^st semester with a minimum CGPA of 3.5.

Successful applicants are required to maintain a minimum of 3.0 CGPA until graduation, as such, for this purpose, BSIB will request the semester result to be submitted to the HR Department.

AMOUNT

1. Up to RM20,000 per annum per person per programme (100% tuition fees or as a top-up cost of living allowances or maximum RM20,000 whichever is lower), and to be credited directly to the successful applicants’ bank account.

DISQUALIFICATION

1. BSIB reserves the right to reject the application and/or revoke the decision (at any stage of the programme if:

• The applicant is ineligible or does not meet the Eligibility Criteria; or
• The applicant breaches any of these Terms and Conditions, other rules and regulations of the programme, or violates any applicable laws or regulations; or
• In BSIB’s sole determination, it believes that the applicants attempted to undermine the operation of the programme by fraud, cheating, falsifying the documents, or deception; or
• The applicant failed to maintain the minimum of 3.0 CGPA until graduation, dismissed or withdrawn from the University, or changed course/field of

NOTIFICATION OF THE APPLICANT

1. The applicant will be selected based on the completed documents, suitability, credentials, and qualifications to suit the objective of this programme.
2. Only successful applicants will be notified via an official offer letter.
