A range of Scholarships and other financial assistance is available to help support the cost of studying at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

 

Inaugural Computing Science Bursary

The Inaugural Computing Science Bursary is granted to all students who meet the minimum entry requirements of BSc (Hons) Computing Science for the September 2021 intake only.

The bursary is a one-time off tuition fee waiver of RM5,000. The value of the bursary will be deducted against the full tuition fees payable on the second semester only.

Minimum Requirement

• Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Foundation in Science or Foundation in Business: BBCC including B in Mathematics
• A-Level/STPM: BBB including B in Mathematics
• UEC: 12 points or less including A in Mathematics (5 subjects not less than B grade)
• CPU: 80% including B in Mathematics
• WACE/SACE: ATAR 80 including B in Mathematics
• SMA 3 (Indonesia): 8.0 in Mathematics
• IB Diploma: Minimum 5 in HL Mathematics
• Diploma with high level of attainment in computing and/or IT and/or mathematics recognised by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the University.
• Any other relevant qualification with high level of attainment in computing and/or IT and/or mathematics recognised by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the University.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, then evidence of proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 is required.

If you do not have IELTS 6.0, we offer a Pre-Sessional English Programme (PSEP) prior to commencing your studies.

• A levels: AAB / STPM: AAB / UEC: 10 points* / IB: 33 pts / CPU: 85% / ATAR: 85% / Foundation/Matriculation from other institutions: CGPA 3.50 - RM8,000
• A levels: ABB / STPM: ABB / UEC: 12 points* / IB: 30 pts / CPU: 80% / ATAR: 80% / Foundation/Matriculation from other institutions: CGPA 3.30 - RM5,000

Progression Scholarship

Students who maintain Grade A/70% average in Foundation/Undergraduate study are awarded with a 35% scholarship when progressing into undergraduate study/following year of undergraduate study.

All other students who are not eligible for a 35% progression scholarship will receive RM5,000 fee waiver when they progress to their first year undergraduate studies.

MSc Petroleum Engineering Waiver

In order to meet the demands for Industrial Revolution 4.0, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is giving a 25% waiver for all Malaysian applicants for our MSc Petroleum Engineering programme. This applies to our 2021 intakes.

Heriot-Watt Alumni Discount

20% fee discount

A 20% discount is applicable to *postgraduate taught courses across the University for all Heriot-Watt alumni who have previously been registered for one year or more on a Heriot-Watt degree programme.

30% fee discount

A special 30% discount is applicable to our class of 2020 and 2021 graduates. All Heriot-Watt alumni who graduated in 2020 or are graduating in 2021 are eligible. This discount is available on our *postgraduate programmes starting in September 2021 and January 2022.

Family Discount

(For Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies) A discount of 10% is granted to children and/or spouse of a Heriot-Watt University alumni who register for a programme of study at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. This discount is also granted to siblings of currently registered students of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia who register for a programme of study at the University. This is awarded on receipt of documentary evidence proving the relationship of the registered applicant and the alumnus or student.
