The Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) 10th Anniversary Global Citizenship Scholarship is introduced to recognise the outstanding global citizens around the world who have role-modeled an inspiring personality and demonstrated leadership quality and achievements.

The HWUM 10th Anniversary Global Citizenship Scholarship awards successful applicants with a 50% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of undergraduate study at HWUM. Read the full terms and conditions of the HWUM 10th Anniversary Global Citizenship Scholarship. 

We invite all eligible international students who have recently completed secondary or high school or pre-university qualifications to apply for the HWUM 10th Anniversary Global Citizenship Scholarship to pursue foundation to undergraduate studies at HWUM.

Eligibility:

• This scholarship is open to non-Malaysian citizens only. 
• This scholarship is open to international students who have recently completed secondary or high school or pre-university qualifications.
• This scholarship is open to international students who have not and/or are not currently enrolled at Heriot-Watt University.
• The applicant should be a role-model with an inspiring personality, have proven leadership qualities and have contributed and impacted the community positively. The applicant must be able to submit and showcase the evidence of the contribution made through the application. Please refer to Application Guidelines below.
• The applicant must meet the minimum academic results requirement stated in Results Requirement below.
• If successful, the scholarship offer is subject to the applicant obtaining a valid student visa from the Malaysian Immigration Department. For more information about student visas, please refer to the Official Portal of Immigration Department of Malaysia.

Application Guidelines:

a. Applicant must also submit the following items together with the completed Application Form:

1. Personal Statement (not more than 500 words) on:
   • Why do you wish to undertake the selected programme?
   • How do you envisage this qualification will contribute to the development of your career in the future?
   • Why should you be selected for this scholarship?
2. Submit a video on “If I were selected for this scholarship………..”
   • The length of your video should be 2 minutes maximum.
   • You may also include any video clips or photographs or any footage in your video. Where applicable, please ensure that you have obtained consent and approval for the content in your video.
   • Your video should be uploaded as a private but shareable YouTube link.

b. Scholarship Interview

1. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited to attend the scholarship interview.
2. The interview will be conducted using a virtual platform via Microsoft Teams.
