Course Description

This degree programme is designed with the aims to produce competent and remarkable graduates in variety of fields associated with design, media, the creative arts and information and communication technologies. These graduates are able to integrate various digital and art technologies in multimedia design, production, management and evaluation. Students will be equipped with strong knowledge in authoring process and creative media production, through a combination of individual and practical group project work and lecture materials.

Students are exposed to a broad range of subject that reflect established and emerging industry best practice. It aims to produce graduates who are equipped to analyze and resolve multimedia design and production. An important feature is practical problem solving in multi-disciplinary teams using current and emerging technologies. Students will also be able to transform 2D graphics into 3D and incorporate them into games, mobile application and computer programmes. Upon graduation, students can begin their successful career in the multimedia and animation industry.

Year 2

Database Concepts, Digital Audio & Video, Digital Imaging, Discrete Structure, Free Elective I, Free Elective II, Major Elective I, Instructional Design, IT Project I, MPW/WPW replacement III, Multimedia Database System, Multimedia Programming, Object Oriented Programming, System Analysis & Design Methods

Year 3

Basic Entrepreneurship, Ethics & Professional Conduct, Human Computer Interaction, Internet Programming,  K-Management, Major Elective II, Major Elective III, IT Project II, Industrial Training / Apprenticeship
 

 

Entry Requirements
STPM Minimum 2 principle passes with GP 2.00 and a C in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
Diploma
  • A Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Any other Diploma in science and technology or business studies with minimum CGPA of 2.50 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process
A-Level Minimum 2 Principal Passes and a C in O-Level Mathematics
UEC Minimum 5Bs (including Mathematics)
Foundation / Matriculation Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a C in SPM Mathematics
SAM/HSC/AUSMAT TER/UAI: average 60% or higher in 5 subjects (including Mathematics)
CPU/CIMP Average of 60% or higher in 6 subjects (including Mathematics)
IB 26 points or higher based on 6 subjects
Other Qualifications Candidates with a credit in computing related subject at SPM or STPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration
