The Intensive English Programme is designed to help students improve their proficiency
in the use of the English language in the shortest time possible. It is divided into
three courses. The three courses or levels are listed as follow: (1) ENL 01 – Elementary
Level; (2) ENL 02 – Intermediate Level; and (3) ENL 03 – Advanced Level. All three
levels are aimed at improving the language competency of the students in reading,
writing, speaking and listening.

 
ENL 01 is designed for students with a low level or poor grasp of the English language.
ENL 02 follows from ENL 01 and provides an intermediate stage for students before they
enter the advanced level. ENL 03 is the last phase of the programme where students
are exposed to more complicated forms of the language and articles which require a
greater understanding of the nuances of English.

Elementary Level
• Sat for City U English Proficiency Test with a score below 99 OR IELTS/TOEFL/
Equivalent

Intermediate Level
• Sat for City U English Proficiency Test with a score of 100-120 OR IELTS/TOEFL/
Equivalent

Advance Level
• Sat for City U English Proficiency Test with a score of 121-200; OR IELTS/TOEFL/
Equivalent
