Course Description | Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Hons) prepares students with all-rounded knowledge in ICT, measurement and managerial skills as well as construction technology and construction contracts. The programme has infrastructure works as a niche area which emphasises sustainability and green construction. This is to ensure that global current and future trends in the quantity surveying profession are taken into account. The aim of this programme is to produce graduates who are industry-ready and possess good understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of quantity surveying for a career in development, construction, consulting and public agencies. At the end of the study, students will achieve the requisite skills in the measurement of building and infrastructure works and able to collaborate with all industry players on the latest ICT platform. They will also have the capability to prepare feasibility studies, cost plans and bills of quantities and assist in managing the tender processes effectively. Besides that, they would be able to evaluate risks and perform contract management such as preparation of interim valuations, variations & final accounts and be exposed to alternative disputes resolution, in particular, arbitration and adjudication as covered by Acts of Parliament. | ||||||||||||||||
