Course Description

The Bachelor of Science (Human Development) is designed based on the philosophy that human growth and development is influenced by the interaction and transaction processes of various elements in the micro and macro systems. The Ecology perspective emphasizes the importance of understanding human beings in context in order to produce excellent and resilient individuals who are able to contribute to individual and global community enhancement, as well as to improve their relationship with and responsibility towards their creator.

Minor Courses (30 Credits)

Seven minor packages are offered as complements to the Bachelor of Science (Human Development) programme that consists of 30 credit hours (a compulsary 24 credit hours and choices of 6 credit hours). They are:

   1.  Minor in Early Childhood Programme
   2.  Minor in Developmental Psychology
   3.  Minor in Guidance and Counseling
   4.  Minor in Family Law
   5.  Minor in Resource Management
   6.  Minor in Community Development
   7.  Minor in Social Work

Entry Requirements

Candidates must fullfill the University General Requirements and specific programme requirements:

University General Requiments

A good pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)/its equivalent with a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia or a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia July Paper; and

A pass in the STPM Examination with at least; CGPA 2.00 and at least;

  • C grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies; and
  • C grade (CGPA 2.00) in two other subjects; or

A pass in the Matriculation Examination with at least; CGPA 2.00; or

A Diploma or its equivalent which is recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate;and

At least Band 1 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Specific Programme Requiments

A minimum of Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two of the following subjects at STPM level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics S/Mathematics T/Further Mathematics T, Economics, Accounting, Geography, History, Business Studies, Usuluddin, Syariah, Sport Science, Computing; or

A minimum of Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two of the following subjects at Matriculation level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Business Management; or

A Diploma in a relevant field or any other qualification recognized by the UPM Senate; and

A pass in two of the following subjects at SPM level; Mathematics/Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science. 

All fees are in RM (Ringgit Malaysia) currency unless stated otherwise.
