Digital economy is defined as economic and social activities that involve the production and use of digital technology by individuals, businesses, and government.

UTAR Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Digital Economy Technology programme has worked with leading industrial MOU partners in syllabus collaboration in various subjects, and prepares graduates in:

• Study with combination of industrial & digital technology across socioeconomic activities
• Talent cultivation for revolution on the fusion of industrial and digital technologies
• Catalyst mindset of next phase of economy, as many industries already embracing digital economy
• Quality Education in digital competency in many fields such as business, healthcare, education, cross-border commerce, etc.
• Exposure in digital economy eco-systems, both in the East (eg:  The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries, especially                   China) and the West (US and Europe).
• Innovation of next generation of products and services via digital economy activities.
• Provide competitive Talents in an Integrated Market with Integrated Platforms in RCEP region. 

• UTAR Foundation Programme
• STPM: Grade C/C+ in 2 relevant subjects depending on the programs (except M.B.B.S. and Quantity Surveying)
• A-Level: Grade D in 2 or 3 relevant subjects
• UEC: Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
• SAM: ATAR 70 and Grade B in at least 2 relevant subjects
• CPU: An average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects (depending on programs)
• Matriculation Certificate, Ministry of Education
• Foundation/Diploma in the relevant fields
• Other recognized equivalent qualifications
