Institution Profile
Background of Institution
University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is one of the world?s leading providers of international assessments. It was formally established in 1998 to provide high quality and leading edge qualifications that meet the demands of employers and educators the world over.
We have a broad range of qualifications that have been created with an international audience in mind, making them interesting and relevant for students. We also work hard in ensuring that CIE qualifications are accepted and recognized by universities, education providers, and employers across the globe.
CIE is part of the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), which is a department of the world-renowned University of Cambridge. We operate alongside OCR, which provides examination and assessment services in the UK, and Cambridge ESOL, which delivers a portfolio of qualifications for people learning English as a second language.
As part of the University of Cambridge, CIE has a strong pedigree in development and research. We constantly review our provision and introduce new subject areas, qualifications and services. In addition, we also strive to improve the support we offer to our network of registered Centres, and utilize innovative technology for purposes of delivery, assessment and administration.
