Founded in 1983, Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM) is a centre of educational excellence for academic, professional and continues learning programmes. KPTM has groomed and developed approximately 30,000 graduates for a wide choice of career opportunities in the government and industrial sectors, and equipped them with a foundation for further studies.

Formerly known as Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran (KYPM), the premier community college in Malaysia was incorporated as a private higher educational institution under the Private Higher Educational Institution Act 1996 (Act 555) in September 2003.

Managed by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), KPTM embodies and delivers reputable education in information technology, computer science, engineering, accounting, business management, bio-industry & health sciences and Professional courses via its 9 campuses throughout Malaysia.

Y. Bhg. Dato’ Haji Yusoff bin Harun President , Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA Kuala Lumpur (KUPTM) Dato' Haji Yusoff bin Harun (DPMS, SMS, AMN) was appointed President of Kolej Poly-Tech MARA on 17 February 2010. Previously, he was the Director of the Technical and Vocational Division, Ministry of Education. Born on 5 July 1952 in Langgar, Kedah, Dato' Yusoff began his career as a technical teacher in 1973 at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Ipoh before becoming Senior Assistant of the school. After completing his studies in Civil Engineering at Brighton Polytechnic, England, he became a lecturer at Politeknik Ungku Omar Ipoh and Assistant to the Head of the Civil Engineering Department. Subsequently, Dato' Yusoff held various positions in the Ministry of Education after completing a master's programme at US International University, San Diego, USA. Among the positions he held were Senior Assistant Director at the Development and Resources Unit and Civil Engineering Unit of the Technical and Vocational Department; and Deputy Director as well as Director of Education Technology Department. He has also held positions as Principal of Politeknik Shah Alam and Director of the Technical and Vocational Division, Ministry of Education. Dato' Yusoff has good management skills and is a good leader with vision. He constantly plans ahead for development in whatever he does.
